Adventures Near and Afar

What to read when traveling to South Africa

National Geographic recommends reading "When Eagles Roar: The Amazing Journey of an African Wildlife Adventurer" before traveling on safari to South Africa in 2016. Great for the armchair traveler as well!

Deep Travel to Morocco - October 2015

Amazing 10-day journey into the heart of storytelling in Morocco! Attended workshops with Hajj Ahmed Ezzarghani, one of the last two master storytellers in Morocco, and his apprentices Malika and Ahmin.

Met the people in Morocco who are helping keep the storytelling tradition alive, including photographer Omar Chennafi, restaurateur Mike Richardson, and author Sandy McCutcheon.

Thanks to the Deep Travel team:
Christina Ammon - travel writer
Erin Byrne - travel writer
Anna Elkins - poetess and illustrator
Doug Cordell - National Public Radio storyteller, performer, and Emmy-nominated writer

The final night featured our storytelling performances at the legendary Cafe Clock in Marrakech in front of a live audience!
